Corporate Gifting by UviaUs

It’s more than the thought that counts.

What is Corporate Gifting?

Corporate gifts, that is, non-cash business giveaways, are now a $125 billion dollar market in the USA.

Let’s face it, long-lasting, mutually beneficial business relationships can be hard to build. And once you have, demonstrating thoughtful appreciation can do a lot to maintain them. Luxury corporate gifts can help your brand rise above the marketing noise and connect with the right individuals on a one-to-one level. From sales outreach and account-based marketing campaigns to client on-boarding and client retention to investor and employee appreciation gifts, the right corporate gift ideas, delivered at the right time in the right way, can make all the difference.

How can my organization take a strategic approach to corporate gifting?

Whether we’re discussing corporate gifts for employees, new client on-boarding, client retention, client appreciation, or a mixed gifting program, strategic gifting is a time-honored method of building relationships, strengthening ties, and demonstrating appreciation.

Be careful not to adopt the attitude of “it’s the thought that counts.” Over 70% of corporate gift recipients reported having negative feelings in association with a business gift at least once. The number one reason? They perceived that little or no thought had been put by the corporate gifting companies into the gift.

Shouldn’t I be gifting something with my logo on it, so they know who sent it?

While something branded to your organization might make okay employee gifts, a good rule of thumb is: if the gift prominently feature your logo, it’s not a gift. The best corporate gifts are personal and thoughtful, on message and purpose, and representative of your organizations relationship with the recipient.

Does your product provide peace of mind? A desktop Zen garden might be an appropriate and on-brand gift. Does your service amplify your client’s online voice? A high-end bluetooth speaker engraved with the recipients name would be both useful and meaningful to your top prospects.

Don’t worry, a truly great gift won’t need your logo, the recipient will think of you every time they use it.

How We Break Through to The Right People

At UviaUs, we’re very careful about the trade shows we attend, having found in the past that large quantities of unqualified leads are often a waste of time for our niche business. So this year, when we decided to attend a marketing trade show at which we were guaranteed to know who we’d be sitting down with before we entered the building, we wanted to leverage our own capacity to create unique corporate gifts in order to make a great first impression and establish solid relationships.

This time, it’s personal.

We did a bit of research about the organizations and individuals we’d be meeting with, and our creative team came up with a beautiful concept: Playing off the idea of marketing executives enjoying a dram of whiskey or two, Mad Men-style, we crafted a series of hand-finished, luxury wooden corporate gift boxes holding whiskey chilling stones engraved with the recipient’s company logo.

Inside the lid of the box was embedded a video player loaded with a message about our value proposition, and the cover of the box was engraved with a topographical map of the city that is home to the recipient company’s headquarters.

Building lasting relationships with strategic corporate gifting.

To go along with the gift boxes, we created personalized presentations highlighting their organization’s pain points and our thoughts on how we might work together to overcome them.

After the conference, we reached to the contacts we made with a personalized scoping document. Once completed, they were sent to a landing page that asked just one more question…whether they liked their whiskey smoky or smooth? We then fulfilled that request, sending them a high quality bottle of our favorite whiskey to enjoy with the chilling stones they’d been gifted earlier.
